Total Area=7 sq. mile (1700 hactares)

Average Depth = 17 ft

Location = 88 km from Karachi on National highway towards Thatta.

Haliji lake is a wild life sanctuary and commercial fishing is banned in it under the Sindh wild life protection Act. This lake is famous for world renowned wildlife species such a Pelican, Cormorant, Crocodiles, Turtels, and variety of migrating birds.

It is estemated that over 222 migrating bird species are use to spend the winter time in this lake from the month of December to March, however their numbers are decreasing every year, due to water quality.

The sindh Tourisim Department provides the rest houses to bird watcher and nature lover, they charge Pak.Rs. 2000/= for 24 hour stay.

Before going to trip there, you should arrange the drinking water and food for yourself. it is very costly and poor quality.
